As a Junior at High Point University in 2002, Josie had no idea where her summer internship at 1075 KZL’s Murphy in the Morning Show would take her. She imagined it would be a fun internship that would earn her the credit hours she needed. Ten years later, she’s not only still working at the number one radio station in the area, she was also promoted to Assistant Program Director, Music Director, and given her own show from 10am to 3pm during the week.
In the last 10 years, Josie has made hundreds of relationships with local businesses and planned countless events for the radio station (her favorite part of the job next to hugging John Mayer backstage of a concert once). Once she realized her passion for planning events, Josie partnered with her friend, Chris Fletcher of Charlotte DJ and Events and has spent the last 4 years working with his business at various events. While working with Chris at wedding shows, Josie met and befriended most of the Charlotte’s wedding vendors.
In 2009, Josie got engaged to her best friend, Matt and soon realized that planning weddings was what she was made to do. Josie contacted Chris once again and asked him if he was in need of a wedding planner for Charlotte DJ and Events. Lucky for her, he did. Now, Josie is living the dream of playing music for the radio station and planning weddings for a living.
